What Is Electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a method of permanent hair removal. A fine, sterile probe delivers a small current into the hair follicle, which destroys the follicle so it can no longer grow hair.
Electrolysis has stood the test of time. It is fully accepted by medical doctors and is recognized by the American Medical Association as the only safe and effective form of permanent hair removal. Read the history of electrology.
What to Expect During Treatment
-
A sterile probe
A sterile probe, the same size as the hair, is placed into the natural pore opening. Insertion is painless.
-
Targeting the root
The electrologist aims toward the dermal papilla, which contains blood and nerves and feeds the growing hair.
-
A small current
A small release of current destroys the dermal papilla, and the hair is then removed.
-
Permanent result
The treated follicle is destroyed and will never grow another hair.
